Height & Shape Common Alder is a small tree growing up to
20mtrs. It has a conical shape as a young tree but the crown
spreads with age.
Leaves & Flowers
The leaves are almost round and shiny bright green with 4-7 pairs of
veins. Flowers in catkins February-March before new leaves appear.
Distribution Native to most of Europe, especially wet sites.
