Height & Shape Hazel is a small tree reaching a height of about 10mtrs. It
may also be classified as a shrub as it does not always have a single
trunk, but lots of branches.
Leaves & Flowers
The leaves are almost round, then tipped at the end.
Characteristic catkins are clearly visible in late winter before the new
leaves appear. Flowers appear between January and April.
Distribution Native to most of Europe. Common hedgerow plant.
