Height & Shape
The Horse Chestnut is a large, spreading
tree with a massive trunk. Reaching a height of up to
35mtrs.
Leaves & Flowers
Leaves are large, almost hand like with 7 leaflets. Large upright
candelabras of white flowers grace the tree during April. Shiny
fruits (conkers) are produced in late autumn.
Distribution Native to South East Europe but introduced to the UK during the 17th
century. Used for timber. Often seen as an ornamental tree
in parks.
