Height & Shape Ash is a large tree growing up to about 40mtrs. Twigs bear black buds during winter.
Leaves & Flowers Long leaves have between 3-7 pairs of leaflets each of which can be up to 10cm long. Flowers appear in April before the leaves.
Distribution Widespread throughout Europe, and is common as a hedgerow tree in Northern England.
