Trees have seen an increase in the demand of species used for Christmas
tree production. The Cell
Grown plants flexibility in planting time has
enabled Christmas tree growers to plant when it suits them.
Our
quality of stock grown is second to none with constant repeat orders
somewhat dictating the species we grow and the volumes in which we grow
them.
The fact that certain species used for the production of Christmas Trees
are already running out for this current season is more evidence to
suggest that the Cell Grown
plant is by some growers the preferred method of production.
Our crops are looking particularly good this season, after what seems to
have been a good wet summer for young trees – albeit not good for
everyone else! The superb
quality we have been able to offer in recent years, have we are sure,
also contributed to the current shortfall on the open market.
Customers may not be aware that we now also grow an extensive range of
Christmas tree varieties in our larger 200cc plug which allows each tree
more room from an early age enabling it to develop side branches from
only 1yr old. The speed at which the tree develops i.e. slower and
outward rather than drawn upward if grown in our traditional 110cc cell
in turn helps to produce a smaller but stockier tree with good
branching habit. The demand for this product is increasing so much that
should you require stock in this larger cell you consider us contract
growing these for you.
The
photo's below give you an indication of the quality of our trees used
for Christmas Trees.
