Cytisus
scoparius - Common Broom is a perennial shrub of the pea family. It is a
native of Western and Central Europe and is typically found in sunny sites,
usually on dry sandy soils at low altitudes.
Height & Shape
Grows to a height of approx. 2.4mtrs fairly quickly and has green shoots
with small deciduous trifoliate leaves 5-15 mm long. Like its relatives it
bears seed pods that turn black when mature.
Leaves & Flowers
2.5cm long,pea-like bright yellow flowers appear in May to June.
Availability
Cell Grown Cytisus scoparius is available from Cheviot Trees in sizes
indicated on our price lists. We may also be able to offer a choice of other
forms and sizes - eg Bare root or pots. Our friendly sales team will be
