Typha
latifolia - Common Reed Mace is a very useful plant for planting in a new
pond as not only is it a very attractive plant is also acts as a
bioremediater to treat polluted water. An added bonus of planting Typha is
that the large flower heads are attractive to blue tits and other specialist
seed eating birds.
Height & Shape
Height 2.5m x Spread 0.6m
Leaves & Flowers
The common reed mace has tall erect grey-green leaves and bears long ‘poker
like’ brown seed heads.
Availability
Cell Grown Typha latifolia is available from Cheviot Trees in sizes
indicated on our price lists. We may also be able to offer a choice of other
forms and sizes - eg Bare root or pots. Our friendly sales team will be
