Typha latifolia - Common Reed Mace is a very useful plant for planting in a new pond as not only is it a very attractive plant is also acts as a bioremediater to treat polluted water. An added bonus of planting Typha is that the large flower heads are attractive to blue tits and other specialist seed eating birds.

Leaves & Flowers
The common reed mace has tall erect grey-green leaves and bears long ‘poker like’ brown seed heads.
